Under Armour was founded in 1996 by Kevin Plank, a former American football player from the University of Maryland.

Tired of having to change out of the sweat-soaked shirts he wore under his gear, Plank was inspired to create a shirt made from a synthetic, moisture-wicking fabric designed to keep athletes dry, cool, and feeling light.

Today, Under Armour is a leading developer and retailer of performance apparel, footwear, and sports equipment used by the world’s top athletes.

The brand’s ambassadors include heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua, skier Lindsey Vonn, basketball player Stephen Curry, Czech Olympic champion Martina Sáblíková, and two-time Olympic champion Lukáš Krpálek.
